About Fortune

Three decades of practical mining.

Made in India, made for the world.

Our story

Rooted in India.

Fortune began in 1996 with a single red granite quarry in Kathera, Madhya Pradesh, as the first joint venture of the MP State Mining Corporation. Fortune Red is still our flagship and ships to buyers across Asia and Europe. Today we run mines and a slab factory, and we've grown into quartzite, construction materials, mining services for major operators, and minerals trading.

We're built on financial discipline, our own equipment and three decades of hands-on mining experience, and we've been recognised for how we work. Our honours include a DGMS award (2008), the Paryavaran Puraskar environment award (2017–18), the FIMI Special Award for Social Responsibility (2021–22), the FIMI Special Environment Award (2023–24), the ASEAN Ceramics and Stone Award (2025), and first prizes for overall performance, method of working, mining machinery, and statutory records and mine plans. Our products also carry CE certification for export.

Our next chapter is scale: a wider portfolio of minerals in India, run to global standards.

Our vision

To build India's most trusted mining and minerals company: one that helps the country stand on its own feet in the stones, minerals and metals its growth depends on. Made in India, made for the world.

Our mission

01

We find, develop and operate mines across central India to world-class standards of safety, compliance and efficiency.

02

We turn every tonne we move into value, from export-grade stone to construction materials.

03

And we grow as a partner to the communities, state and customers who rely on us.

Portrait of Nivedan Bharadwaj

Nivedan Bharadwaj

CEO & Managing Director

Nivedan founded Fortune with a belief that a mining business should create lasting value for its customers, its people and the communities around its operations. He has led the company’s growth from a single quarry into a diversified mining and minerals business, combining hands-on industry knowledge with financial discipline and a commitment to quality.

Through Fortune’s joint venture with the Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation, he helped establish a foundation for public-private collaboration in the state’s mining sector. His leadership has built Fortune’s international customer relationships and embedded responsible mining into its operating approach, reflected in recognition from the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries for social responsibility.

As Fortune enters its next chapter, Nivedan’s focus is on building the capabilities, partnerships and operating standards needed to scale—while preserving the accountability and community relationships on which the business was founded.

Through a public-private partnership approach to village development, she brings the company, public institutions and local communities together to address shared priorities and support lasting progress around Fortune’s operations.
